From the President's Desk

Dear Members,

The health and safety of our members and volunteers is our top priority. On March 5, 2020 we made the decision to postpone the March Program out of caution, and unfortunately that caution has now proven well founded. Over the past few weeks, the ISPE Delaware Valley Chapter has been monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on our community. On March 6-15, 2020 the Governors of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware declared States of Emergency in response to the growing COVID-19 threat. Many of our own companies have instituted social distancing policies, and local townships have begun to call for closure of all non-essential business. Following the example of our healthcare companies, guidance of the government, and the recommendations of the CDC, your Delaware Valley Chapter Board of Directors have made the decision to cancel or postpone all in-person education sessions and programs for April and May. All committee and board meetings will be held via digital connection tools (conference calls and webinars).

Two of our largest events, the Annual Golf Outing and our Annual Symposium and Exhibition, have been impacted by the decision to place the safety of our Chapter members, volunteers, and vendors above all else. We are working with our venues to reschedule these events and will continue to monitor the rapidly evolving environment. We will share details of the rescheduled dates as soon as we are able.

Although we may be apart in physical distance, the Board is actively stepping up our digital platform and pursuing opportunities to continue our educational and program offerings via webinar. We are openly seeking members to become part of our digital faculty. Please reach out to me directly at president@ispedvc.org if you are interested in joining our list of prestigious speakers.
