Josef Trapl, Global Head of MSci Innovation, works within the Global Manufacturing Supply Organization (GMS) at Takeda Pharmaceuticals International and is based in Zürich, Switzerland. He joined Takeda in 2015 and, in his current corporate role, he supports the Takeda network with innovation in manufacturing and is responsible for industry trends, new technologies, automation solutions (Pharma/Industry 4.0/IoT), technology transfer, regulatory and GMP aspects.
Josef is a chartered Chemical Engineer (MChE) and has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Mannheim Business School, Germany. He has an extensive global design and project experience across several business areas in the Life Science Industry including Biotech, Stem Cell, Fill & Finish, Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) production.
Since 2010, Josef is an active member of the ISPE and, as a core team member, he was involved in the preparation of the Sustainability Handbook published in 2015. Currently he co-leads in a joint effort with Wolfgang Winter (Agilent) the Pharma 4.0 Plug and Produce team and is a chair-member of the Pharma 4.0 group, together with Christian Wölbeling, Thomas Zimmer and Wolfgang Winter.
